The Butcher Social Club is Sir Adam’s in-house bestemming om de vier belangrijke B’s van levensgenieters bij elkaar brengen – burgers, booze, beer, breakfast – is THE BUTCHER Social Club.

A sneak peek into the Marble Hall!

A virtual tour through Hotelvrijmibo XL’s venue: de Marble Hall in the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen!


The Marble Hall contains 12 special types of marble from Tuscany, Italy. Both the floor, the pillars and the stairs are covered with it. The green marble, “vert polververa”, is a rare type of marble and is only used for restoration purposes.

Het Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen

The Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen (Royal Tropical Institute) is located at the Oosterpark, in the middle of Amsterdam – East. For more than 80 years, the monumental building has been one of the iconic buildings in Amsterdam. The building is characterized by an exuberant neo-Renaissance style and by numerous decorations that refer to different world cultures and Dutch colonial history.


Besides being a beautiful event location, KIT also consists of the Tropenmuseum and De Tropen café and restaurant. The Amsterdam Tropen Hotel, located on the other side of the courtyard, is also a part of the Royal Tropical Institute.
